Commander's Log

Tales From Across the Galaxy

Welcome Cadets

Cadets, welcome. My name is Commander John Shepard. In your enrollment into the Alliance, you have been allowed access to these logs. These will be accounts of my journeys, as well as tips and tools essential for your survival.

Make no mistake, we are at war. But the battle is only lost when good people stop standing for what they believe in. So stand by me, Human, Salarian, Korgan, and all other species. Take heed of my advice, and never give up. Whilst we stand together, the Alliance lives one. Your galaxy needs you. I need you.

Thank you for your service. Now let’s end this war.

New Worlds

You will see many stunning and breathtaking things in your journeys. Whether it be a species, a planet, or an object, the universe is full of much beauty. It is our task to preserve it at all costs. All life is precious, all species should be protected, and all cultures respected. But don’t take too long appreciating the scenery; most of it is probably trying to kill you.

There are three key things to take into place during your journies across the galaxy. Wherever you go, if you bear in mind these three simple concepts, you’ll never be caught off-guard by the situations your travels will present you with.

PLANET

Know the ins and outs of your geography. What are the plants like? How is the atmosphere? Does the scenery lend itself to close-quarter, or long-range combat? Know where you are, and be prepared for your surroundings

SPECIES

Understand who lives in this space. Know their cultures, their practices, their beliefs and mannerisms. Try not to offend, try not to threaten, and, above all else, treat them as if their were your own people. Know your allies, and, if you must, know your enemies. It just might save your life

TECHNOLOGY

Find out what technology you’ll have access to. Some planets might have weaponry you haven’t seen before, others might be more primitive in their mechanisms. Whatever you have access to, learn how to make the most of it, and adapt to complete your mission

Ready?

Serving your galaxy is a big commitment. It will pull you away from your home, your parents, your friends. You will be full of questions, and full of apprehension. If you have any questions, or any topics you need me to talk on, drop me an email. I will check my emails regularly between missions, and will endeavour to answer your request. Keep checking this page; it’ll open your eyes to the wonder of this galaxy, and hopefully be a vital tool in helping you stay alive. Shepard out.
